Self Portrait: Artist’s Brain is a search for an intangible mind. Ten years ago Lada volunteered to a long term research program where a series of MRI brain scans are taken periodically every few years.  Being involved in the research has allowed Lada access to MRI scans of her own brain. Lada has chosen the intricate, almost surgical process of cross-stitch to translate the images.

"From the Buddhist point of view, the brain is only the computer. It's the part that does the programming. But what is the energy that drives the computer?"
