Notes on materials:
The phosphorescent pigments in the Auroral Series charge in natural light, heat, or under a UV black light. The resulting glow remains visible, with intensity varying according to ambient light conditions.
All works in the exhibition feature gilding with precious metals. I have deliberately chosen not to seal some pieces, allowing tarnish, patina, and oxidation to develop over time as a reflection of impermanence. The 24-karat gold topography of kunanyi will preserves its vibrant hue and shine.
