UPDATE: Artist Talk Cancelled

The artist talk and closing event with Artist in Residence Lada Dedić, scheduled for Saturday 29 August has been cancelled

The Contemplative Cartography project continues.

Together, we created 108 map segments across the 3 workshops and self-guided mapping stations with participants aged between 2 to 73!

Please still drop into Hurstville Museum & Gallery to collect a little piece of the project: a lucky-dip gift containing a segment of the completed maps.

And for everyone including those who weren’t able to attend one of the full-capacity workshops, Lada has created a special zine, The Maps of Georges River, with a selection of map segments to complete at home

Thank you for being part of the collective map.

Join us to celebrate the completion of Artist in Residence Lada Dedić’s unique community artwork in this special event exploring art, cartography and collaborative map making.

This session will feature a short artist talk, where Lada will share insights into her creative practice, her residency experience, and the development of the collaborative map created across multiple community workshops. Visitors will have the opportunity to view the final artwork, learn about the ideas behind it, and reflect on the role of community participation in shaping creative outcomes.

Enjoy light refreshments while connecting with others and celebrating this shared creative journey. As part of the event, participants will also be invited to take home a ‘lucky dip’ - a small section of the collaborative artwork.
